LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Powerball's 730 million dollar jackpot will be up for grabs January 20 at 11 p.m. That jackpot is the fourth largest ever for the Powerball.
In 2017, a ticket sold in Lafayette gave it's buyer 435 million dollars. Lafayette residents are hoping lightning will strike twice.
Speaking of lightning, you've got greater odds of being struck than winning the Powerball lottery. Odds to win the jackpot are one in 292 million.
Lottery player Tina Morris is excited none the less to play her chance at the big prize.
"I'm very excited," said Morris.
"I'm going going to go in here and get a chance at it, and give it my little numbers."
If players run out of luck tonight, they still have another chance at a grand prize. The Mega Millions drawing on January 22 is worth 970 million dollars.
