LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Emerson Evans, 25, is in the hospital after being stabbed at his apartment Tuesday afternoon. Police said it was the result of a "large fight."

According to Sgt. Anderson, LPD received multiple 911 calls around 12:05 p.m. at the Cambridge Estates Apartments off State Road 38. Eyewitnesses say they saw a fight involving six people. Police said the fight spread between multiple apartments within the complex.

It's unclear if Evans was stabbed more than once. Sgt. Anderson said they have detained one person of interest. Multiple eyewitnesses went to the police station for testimony. It's unclear if an arrest will be made at this time and the incident is still under investigation.
