Storms continue to fire to our north & are forming a long, broken line. New storms should continue to fire around Chicago & just north of the Kankakee River & gradually merge with the line.
This will work southeastward through the evening. It is still a bit unclear how far south the line will get in our viewing area, but the better potential of storms will be in our northern & northeastern areas in a line from Morocco to Rensselaer to Logansport to Peru. Line should eventually gust out & completely collapse. We will watch to see if it can move any farther southward than that (still CINH or capping & sinking air to overcome in southern half).
An isolated embedded severe storm or two is possible with the main threat being wind.
Now-midnight is the timing for the storms to pass.
Patchy fog is possible tonight. A couple showers/storms may still fire overnight-early Friday morning as outflow boundary from broken line of storms gets hung up in the area.
