LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Sixty new jobs are coming to Lafayette. That's thanks to an investment by Toyota Tshusho America Incorporated.
TAI is spending about $27 million dollars to build a new logistics warehouse.
The 500,000 square foot building will sit on about 46 acres of property on Haggerty Lane. That's near the National Guard Armory.
On Thursday, the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission approved a 10-year tax abatement to help make it possible.
The legal counsel for the building's owner said the facility will create local longevity for the company.
"It allows them to not only expand their presence in Lafayette but establish a much larger facility than they currently have and allow them to continue to grow and be a long time presence in the Lafayette community," said T.M. Crowley & Associates Corporate Counsel Randy Lloyd.
If all goes according to plan, construction on the new facility could be complete by mid-2019.
