LAFAYETTE, Ind, (WLFI) — On Friday, a Lafayette man was arrested on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon.
On Oct. 27 at around 1 a.m. Lafayette police responded to a report that person had been battered by a handgun.
According to police, Aaron Mason stated that someone entered his home in the 500 block of South 16th Street and struck him with a firearm after an argument.
Mason is said to have suffered injuries to his face for which he was treated at a local hospital. He was later released.
28-year-old Donte Martell Williams was later found at his home in the 1600 block of Perdue Street and arrested.
Charges against Williams could include battery by means of a deadly weapon, serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, felony intimidation, and carrying a handgun without a permit.
Williams was taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
