LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The holiday season is just weeks away.
And the city of Lafayette is gearing up for its annual Christmas parade.
As many as 5,000 people came out for last year's festivities.
City Clerk Cindy Murray said the city is currently looking for people to be in this year's event.
That includes floats, bands and people to walk in the parade.
Continuing a tradition that started last year, the parade will kick off after sunset.
Murray said this is a good way to light up the streets, showcasing downtown.
"I think this brings everybody together and everybody gets to appreciate," said Murray. "Some of those folks probably wouldn't see the Streetscape and the new improvements that we made to downtown and the artwork."
The parade will take place on Dec. 2.
