NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The Newton County Health Department says 21 people in a long-term care facility have been infected with COVID-19.
As we reported Sunday, numbers in Newton County jumped from 9 to 26. The health department said the facility is located in Lincoln Township. That is in the northern part of the county and includes the communities of Thayer and Roselawn.
The Newton County Health Department and Indiana State Department of Health is providing response guidance, testing, infection control and personal protective equipment to the facility.
The facility has been under a visitor restriction since early March, according to the health department.
