LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A 15-year-old boy has been injured in a Lafayette shooting. Police said the teen was taken out of the county to care for his injuries.
Lafayette police were called to 9th Street and Twyckenham Boulevard about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. However, their investigation led them a block south to Bradford Place Apartments.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument between a group of people in the parking lot before shots were fired. Sgt. Mike Brown said multiple shell casings were found at the scene.
Police said the boy was shot in the arm and then it traveled inside his body. As of Wednesday morning, the teen had non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made and Brown was unable to provide suspect descriptions.
