REMINGTON, Ind. (WLFI) — A man is dead and another injured in a weekend shooting off Interstate 65 in Remington.
Police were called to the Family Express gas station at I-65 and U.S. 24 Saturday afternoon. Officers said when they arrived, two men were suffering from gunshot wounds inside a car.
Police said Emmanuel Ampadu, 24 of Chicago, died on the scene. Jonathan Thomas, 25 of Chicago, was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition.
Investigators learned the shooting happened near the NAPA Auto Parts store in Remington. The two men reportedly met with another group for an unspecified transaction.
Officers later arrested Isaiah Carver, 22 of Indianapolis, Dimari Jones, 22 of Indianapolis, Zavier Davidson, 19 of Indianapolis, and Derrick Mitchel, 21 of Indianapolis. The four men are being held in the Jasper County Jail, pending formal charges.
