TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The Greater Lafayette Commerce has officially launched its Shop Small Month.
Starting now until December twenty-ninth, you have the opportunity to visit a variety of participating shops in downtown Lafayette. The theme is "Holiday Window Shopping" and GLC is encouraging participating brick and mortar businesses to festively decorate their stores, displays, and windows for the holidays.
During the month, customers who post photos of their favorite stores on social media using the hash tag "#GL Shop Small 2021" will be eligible for weekly drawings for gift cards to participating businesses.
One of the participants, the co-owner of the Wine Cellar Bistro had this to say: "This is a big time of year for us. This is when we can really get people in and see what we're doing. I feel like people really want to support small businesses now more than ever. We all suffered pretty badly during Covid."
As a national initiative, Greater Lafayette Commerce wanted to do more than the typical one or two day Black Friday and Small Business Saturday events
With a whole month to fill, they hope to assist in economic recovery from the pandemic that affected many small businesses.
