LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A new roundabout is expected to be built on Concord Road.
The County Commissioners this week approved starting the design of a new traffic circle on Concord somewhere *south of Veterans Memorial Parkway. Commissioner Tom Murtaugh said it'll combine entrances to subdivisions in that area, and ease congestion.
"Roundabouts serve a number of purposes, number one, it slows traffic. And also there's safety, it relieves safety concerns, too, because traffic is slower, if there are accidents in the roundabout, they typically don't have a significant amount of personal injury," said Murtaugh.
Murtaugh also said it's not known yet exactly where the roundabout will be built.
It's expected to be complete in 2024, or 2025.
