Following our initial line of showers and thunderstorms this morning, much of our current cloud cover will begin to thin out. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the mid 80s with high relative humidity here at the surface. If you take that mixture and add some sunshine to the equation, you get atmospheric instability. It's that instability that will fuel our chances for severe weather later this afternoon. As the atmosphere across the viewing area becomes more unstable, popup clusters of storms will develop to our west with a eastward heading. Some of these storms may produce large hail and strong gusty winds.
