WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The undefeated West Lafayette Red Devils pay a visit to the one loss Central Catholic Knights on Friday night with the Hoosier Conference title on the line at LaRocca Field.
The Knights have won both contests since the two schools picked the rivalry back up two years ago. While neither team will admit it, this game has been circled on the calendar since the season began.
"When I hear Central Catholic what comes to mind is the cross town rivalry that's always a big game no matter what sport it is and out of every game throughout the year that is the game you want to win the most," said senior quarterback Parker Ronchetto.
West Lafayette has come up short the last two years and would like nothing more than to ruin CC's senior night by winning the Hoosier Conference title on the Knights home field.
"We really don't want to lose to them and we know they don't want to lose to us so you know both teams are going to give it everything they've got and leave it all on the field," said senior running back Maurice Woodard.
Even after winning the last two games against West Lafayette, the Knights still consider the Red Devils their rival and cant wait for Friday's game to begin.
"Lately they haven't won but I still view it as a rivalry because it's cross town. When I hear West Lafayette, I think Red Devils and a rivalry," said senior Joe Smith.
