UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. (WLFI) - Purdue women's basketball team fell to Penn State 69-61 on Monday night.
No. 8 Penn State takes over first place in the Big Ten standings with its win over No. 13 Purdue. Penn State improves to 8-1 in conference while the Boilermakers drop to 7-2.
Purdue trailed at halftime to Penn State 34-23. The Boilers won the second half battle 38-35, however it wasn't enough to get the win.
Purdue's Courtney Moses led all scorers with 21 points. Purdue's Drey Mingo added 13 points. Purdue's Sam Ostarello pulled down 13 rebounds but only scored four points.
The Boilermakers struggled with turnovers again. Purdue turned the ball over 19 times to Penn State's 10.
Purdue is 18-4 overall. The Boilermakers return to action on Sunday. Purdue plays host to Michigan with tip-off set for noon.
