UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. (WLFI) - Purdue baseball won its first Big Ten game of the season Friday by downing Penn State 6-1 Friday in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Freshman left-handed pitcher Jordan Minch allowed just one earned run in eight innings in picking up the victory. Minch struck out five allowed five hits in the Boilermakers' victory.
Center fielder Kyle Johnson went 2-3 with two runs batted in to lead the Boilers' offensive attack.
With the win, Purdue improves to 1-3 in Big Ten play and 8-14 overall.
The Boilermakers are scheduled to play single games against the Nittany Lions Saturday and Sunday.
