LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Peter Ripke had a busy day at Loeb Stadium as the senior pitcher & shortstop signed his letter of Intent to play baseball at Vincennes University.
Ripke signed on the dotted line with his parents, teammates, and coaches by his side.
Following his signing, Ripke toed the rubber and was dominant in every phase of the game as the Bronchos cruised to a 10-0 victory over Chesterton.
Ripke racked up two RBIs on two hits for Bronchos. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
He also kept Chesterton off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six.
In game two, Ripke stayed hot at the plate as he racked up two more RBIs on two hits for Bronchos. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Lafayette Jeff went 2-1 in the Joe Heath classic and are now 4-3 overall. The Bronchos will travel to Benton Central on Monday afternoon. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) proposed a pre-K voucher program as part of his 2014 agenda. The program would give underprivileged children access to pre-K programs.
This is the third year for the Shop with a Cop program, in which officers take children shopping, spending up to $175 on clothing and toys for each child.
