WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue baseball's Jordan Minch earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on Monday.
Minch did not surrender a hit that left the infield in his six shutout innings in the game two win at Evansville Saturday.
Minch helped the Boilers clinch their first victorious weekend of the season with the best start of his young college career. The lefty won his pitcher's duel with Evansville's Kyle Lloyd, retiring 12 consecutive batters at one point while not allowing a hit until the fifth inning.
Brad Schreiber, Minch and Robert Ramer are scheduled to be Purdue's starters for the upcoming Big Ten weekend series against Ohio State (March 22-24). Ramer will also start Tuesday's home opener and Alexander Field debut game against Illinois-Chicago Tuesday, now set for a 4 p.m. first pitch.
