Micah Shrewsberry's time as an assistant coach at Purdue has come to an end as he is set to join Brad Stevens in Boston as part of the Celtics staff.
Shrewsberry came to Purdue after a four-year run at Butler that saw him coach in back-to-back NCAA championship games .
A former college point guard, Shrewsberry was integral in Purdue's nation-leading effort in the turnover department in 2011-12. The Boilermakers averaged just 8.74 turnovers per game as a team in Shrewsberry's first season in West Lafayette, the sixth-lowest in the NCAA since the organization began tracking the stat in 1993.
The Indianapolis native also helped guard Terone Johnson become one of the Big Ten's most improved players in 2012. Johnson led Purdue with a .472 field goal percentage (min. 100 attempts) after shooting just .349 from the floor as a freshman, and bumped his scoring average up to 9.2 points per game from 4.9 per contest as a freshman.
Terone Johnson's development continued in 2013, as he earned third-team All-Big Ten honors after leading Purdue in scoring and ranking second on the team in both rebounds and assists.
Shrewsberry also helped Ronnie Johnson post one of the most prolific assist seasons ever by a Purdue freshman in 2012-13, as he dished out 139 to rank second on the program's rookie chart.
