WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Texas Rangers recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Lindblom from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday and designated right-handed pitcher Kyle McClellan for assignment.
Lindblom, 26, will join the Rangers in time for their series opener against the Seattle Mariners.
This is Lindblom's third stint with Texas. The former Harrison Raider and Purdue Boilermaker received a no-decision in his last outing with the Rangers after giving up two runs in five innings against the A's on June 20.
While no decision has been made, it appears that Lindblom will take McClellan's place in the bullpen, and is likely vying with Ross Wolf to see who will be the long man when Joakim Soria returns in a week to ten days.
