WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Former Purdue basketball coach Gene Keady will have a street named after him in his hometown of Larned, Kansas.
A dedication of 3rd Street in honor of Coach Keady will take place during Larned's Santa Fe Trails Day on Saturday, June 8, with Third Street officially to be renamed Gene Keady Way.
Coach Keady was elected to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in April and will be inducted on November 24 in Kansas City.
Coach Keady retired as the Boilermakers' head basketball coach in 2005 and is currently a special assistant and advisor to former Boilermaker graduate assistant basketball coach Steve Lavin at St. John's.
