INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - The Indianapolis Colts waived safety Joe Lefeged on Thursday.
Lefeged appeared in 36 games (five starts) with the Colts and totaled 56 tackles (31 solo), five passes defensed, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. He also recorded 20 special teams stops.
This summer Lefeged ran into legal trouble. He was arrested during a traffic stop after police said they found a semi-automatic pistol in the car in which he was riding. Police say they also smelled what appeared to be marijuana and found an open bottle containing vodka and orange juice in the car's center console.
Lefeged and another passenger were taken into custody after they tried to run from police. Lefeged was charged with carrying a licensed pistol outside the home, which is a felony.
Lefeged was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on July 29, 2011.
