LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The No. 16 ranked McCutcheon Mavericks girls soccer team started off the season with a loss to No. 6 Avon, but notched their first win against another HCC rival Wednesday.
The Mavericks got a hat trick from Koral Briggs, two more goals from Elizabeth Burton, and a goal each from Makayla Merryman and Cassie Smith.
After scoring their first goal not long into the first half, the Mavs added four more before halftime.
McCutcheon moves to (1-1) on the season and (1-1) in the HCC. They're back in action Saturday at home against West Lafayette at 11:30 AM.
