LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette Jefferson High School head girls' basketball coach, Geoff Salmon, resigned his teaching and coaching position today. He has accepted a position as Athletic Director and girls basketball coach at Northfield High School in Wabash, Indiana.
Salmon has been the varsity girls' basketball at Jeff since the 2009-10 season. He compiled a 33-54 record over four years while at Jeff which included its only girls HCC basketball title in 2010.
"During his tenure Geoff established a program in which his student-athletes felt they were given a fair opportunity and treated with respect. Above all else, I am thankful for the opportunities he gave his girls and the way in which he went about it," said Lafayette Jeff Athletic Director Mark Preston.
"Geoff has had a desire for some time to get into administration and it appears he has found a very good fit. While we will miss Geoff as both a teacher and a coach we are very excited for him and wish his family nothing but the best," said Preston.
