INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indiana State Trooper was struck by a vehicle on the interstate Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred on I-69 northbound at the 238 mile marker. According to a news release, the trooper was sitting in his fully marked squad car with lights activated when he was struck from behind.
The officer was sent to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.
Officials believe the driver who struck the trooper's vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. He was not injured in the accident and transported to the Delaware Co. Jail.
