LOS ANGELES (CNN/KCAL/KCBS) - Los Angeles International Airport is going to the dogs -- literally.
This week, LAX launched a new program called "Pets Unstressing Passengers," or "PUP" for short. Some of the dogs wander around the airport.
The goal is to have the dogs ease tense travelers as they wait for their flights. Research shows pet therapy helps relax people, decrease blood pressure and heart rate.
Officials hope these dogs help improve the atmosphere inside the airport.
