WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A version of Purdue University's "World's Largest Drum" is set to take a plunge in Lake Michigan.
Several Purdue band members were hard at work today as they gear up for the Red Bull Flugtag competition.
Teams build flying machines and launch them off a ramp into the great lake. The goal is to see who can be the most creative and fly the farthest.
Team members say it takes them about 250 hours to complete the project. The competition takes place at Burnham park in Chicago on September 21.
