WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - West Lafayette school officials are looking to improve security as part of a strategic facilities plan.
Last month, a committee met to look at data related to aging buildings. Superintendent Rocky Killion said school districts constantly need to update their facilities. West Lafayette Community School Corporation is remodeling offices and entryways, keeping students and security as top priorities.
"You can never over-emphasize school security and so this is going to give us an opportunity to improve school security and improve our services for our students at the junior-senior high school," said Killion.
Killion said an academic strategic plan is also in the works. He hopes to implement the new plan in about a year.
