WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It may have been chilly out Friday, but with Memorial Day on Monday, it's time to open community pools.
The city pool held a Splash Bash to celebrate the opening of the pool, where everyone was allowed in for just one dollar.
However, due to the chilly weather only a few people were out enjoying the first day of the pool.
Pool Manager Kelsey Weber says it isn't necessarily bad, that they had a slow day Friday.
"It's a nice start to the season," Weber said. "Sometimes, we get a little busy, but right now it's a good day to remind everyone of the rules are and help the lifeguards figure out what they want to do this year and how they want to direct the public."
The pool is open every day from 12:30 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. for public swims, with other times available for lap swimming or swimming lessons.
