WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Golfers and Wounded Warriors took to Kampen Golf Course Saturday morning for a charity scramble.
The 2nd Annual Student Veteran Organization's Golf Outing kicked off at the Birck Boilermaker Complex.
Put on by Purdue and Ivy Tech, the event raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project as well as student veteran organizations.
Event designer Brandon Porter said the charity outing also works as a retreat for many veterans looking to get back into the community.
"It's helping veterans that struggle with that post service because they're looking for their battle buddy instead of looking for a friend," said Porter.
In addition to 18 holes, the outing included a longest drive, closest to the pin and a hole in one contests.
