LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe School Corporation buses that were intentionally set on fire earlier this month will be leaving the school yard for the scrap yard.
A large wrecker was seen hauling them away Tuesday evening from behind Wea Ridge Elementary School. The tow truck driver said the buses are headed to an auto auction and will be sold for scrap.
Earlier this month, firefighters were called to Wea Ridge where they found two buses fully engulfed when they arrived. A 14-year-old boy was charged with four counts of arson and four counts of criminal mischief.
The boy has another hearing on July 5.
