WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - If you're looking to get a leg-up on training for the Purdue Half Marathon, you can take advantage of the Tippy Connect Tri-N-Run official training series.
Although anyone and everyone is welcome, the two training dates are designed to help you get ready for the big race which is set for Oct. 19. More information on the Purdue Half Marathon can be found on the race's website.
The first training session is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. The 5K/10K Run/Walk starts at Ross-Ade Stadium on the Purdue University campus. Another training run, a 15K is scheduled for Sept. 21, with registration also at 7:30 a.m. at Ross-Ade. Races begin at 8 a.m.
The 5K costs $20, the 10K is $25, and the 15K is $30. You can also register for the entire series for $40. Proceeds will benefit Food Finders Food Bank. Tippy Connect is also asking race participants to bring non-perishable food items to donate.
