TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Construction on a Tippecanoe County bridge could start next week.
Tippecanoe County Highway Department Executive Director Opal Kuhl accepted a bid to begin replacing the bridge on County Road 275 South. That is just off State Road 25 in Shadeland.
Kuhl said the bridge is starting to crumble. She said she first thought about repairing the bridge instead of redesigning and replacing it.
"We bid last year to just do repairs on it, but the repairs were going to cost almost as much as to replace the bridge," Kuhl said. "We went ahead and bid again, and got a lower bid. We are going to go ahead with replacement this year."
The bridge will cost about $250,000 dollars to replace.
