ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - An Attica teacher's claim of age discrimination against Attica Consolidated School Corporation is being closed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
As News 18 previously reported, teacher Beth Bass resigned August 2 and filed an age discrimination claim with the EEOC.
In January, Bass was transferred from her sixth grade classroom to the junior-senior high school.
At the time some parents said they believed it was a retaliation move against Bass.
Superintendent Derek Marshall would not comment because it was a personnel matter.
Now, the school corporation said the EEOC notified them the file would be closed because the facts in the charge do not fall under statutes they enforce.
Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Pence proposed a pre-K voucher program as part of his 2014 agenda. The program would give underprivileged children access to pre-K programs.
This is the third year for the Shop with a Cop program, in which officers take children shopping, spending up to $175 on clothing and toys for each child.
