FOWLER, Ind. (WLFI) - For the moment, an area school corporation remains without a superintendent in charge.
Monday was the first official day on the job for North Newton Superintendent Destin Haas after a controversial end to his tenure as the Benton Community Schools Superintendent earlier this month.
School board member Gabe Widmer told News 18 the board is working to put together a plan while a search is made for a new superintendent. Options include promoting an interim superintendent or contracting the job out.
Widmer hopes that can be done in time for the scheduled board meeting Nov. 18.
For now, he says a chart specifies which employee is responsible for various tasks, for example, like canceling school because of bad weather.
