WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - West Lafayette Development is turning to social media to see what's best for State Street. A Facebook page called State Street Master Plan; Reimagining State Street has been set up.
Director of Development Chandler Poole said by liking the page you can take a survey about the street. He said so far about 100 people have taken the survey.
The State Street Master Plan aims to redo State Street from Tapawingo Drive to the new U.S. 231 to be more pedestrian friendly.
Poole said some of the public's ideas have mirrored the city's.
"The intersection of Northwestern [Avenue] and State Street is dangerous," Poole said. "It's confusing. As far as drivers there is a real tight left turn. So, we want to understand that a little bit better."
The project also has its own email address. Poole said you can email ideas or pictures of what you would like to see on State Street to firstname.lastname@example.org.
