LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) will be home to an additional Subaru model.
In a brief statement, a representative said the parent company Fuji Heavy Industries has confirmed an additional model will be built at the Lafayette plant sometime in 2016.
Currently the plant produces the Outback, Legacy and Tribeca.
A formal announcement is expected to be made in the second quarter of this year.
Japanese media have reported Subaru will invest $230 million to increase SIA's output by 30 percent.
"Fuji Heavy Industries" is targeting a 6-percent overall increase in global sales this year.
