LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A man was sent to the hospital after his minivan rolled over Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Greenbush and Erie Streets in Lafayette.
Police said a 21-year-old male was driving northbound on Erie Street when his minivan crossed the center line for an unknown reason.
They said he swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle, crashed into a tree and flipped his van.
LPD officer Julie Van Horn said his injuries could have been a lot worse.
"The airbags deployed also so that's what kept him from getting hurt really bad. He was probably wearing his seat belt and the airbags also," said Van Horn.
Police said the man was taken to an area hospital where he's being treated for minor injuries. His name is unknown at this time.
