LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A local health center says a fiscally challenging year has pushed it to eliminate 14 employees' positions.
According to Riggs Community Health Center President and CEO Veronique LeBlanc, when Riggs celebrated the opening of its new South Street facility last November, Riggs' Board of Directors and Center leadership knew the first year of operation would be challenging financially.
LeBlanc says those expectations were spot-on, with increased costs and lower-than-anticipated levels of physician and nurse practitioner staffing.
"We value our people and we thank those who left for all their contributions to Riggs Community Health Center, the patients they connected with and the lives they improved," LeBlanc said.
The trees is up and the decorations are set. Visitors are getting a special look at the Haan Mansion as Christmas approaches.
Several generations gathered Saturday to remember a day that will live in infamy. The day marked 72 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Downtown Lafayette transformed into a scene right out of Victorian England Saturday for Dickens of a Christmas.
