LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Main Street Wine and Cheese has been a breakfast and brunch spot for quite some time, but now the newly renovated restaurant is adding something else to the menu.
"The Heidelberg was here about 20 something years ago, and so we're really reviving upper Main Street with the bar and being able to bring a little night life," owner Ivan Brumbaugh said.
Brumbaugh said they're bringing in more than just wine. Dozens of new menu items, cocktails and beers from around the world will be now be available. If they don't have what you want - they'll get it.
"We're adding what our clients would like," Brumbaugh said. "It's going to be kind of something that the clients can come in, be interactive. If they want a beer we'll see if we can get it."
With a rotating monthly menu highlighting regions around the world, they'll now have a chance to create their own unique drinks to accompany the good eats.
"We've been dying to get this started ever since we heard about it," executive bartender Daniel Mills said. "Start working on cocktails immediately. We had small sessions with the chef and start working out a way to make cocktails to also go along with the menu as well."
"We're going to be doing some elk sliders, alpaca sliders," Brumbaugh said about some of the unique items added to the menu. "Some really nice foods and we'll be doing our wild mushroom pizzas."
For Mills, one of two executive bartenders, it's an opportunity to highlight their unique food and knack for pairing the perfect drink whether it's beer, wine, or a cocktail.
"Honestly I think it's begin unique from the beginning, but this is just another addition on to the adventure," Mills said.
An adventure that will take your taste buds around the globe.
