LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The markings James Castor found on his rental property Sunday morning spell out 4HC.
This is a marking the Lafayette Police Department (LPD) previously told News 18 they have been finding around the Columbian Park neighborhoods.
They said it could stand for the Four Corner Hustlers gang.
Castor said he discovered the markings on his property on Sheridan Street around 9 a.m. He said he called police and they responded quickly to make a report on the vandalism.
Castor has lived in the neighborhood all his life and owns several rental properties in the area. He and other neighbors said the vandalism reports concern them.
"There are children living in the neighborhood, there are old people who live in the neighborhood, and I don't want this to become unsafe," said Castor.
"I hope the people who are doing this one day realize and grow up," said resident Lisa Barner.
Castor said he is in charge of painting over the markings. He said he will do that this week.
News 18 reached out to Lafayette police for an interview. That request was not answered.
