TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Tippecanoe County crowned a new 4-H fair queen Saturday night.
Twenty-one contestants competed for the title of Miss Tippecanoe County at the Fairgrounds Saturday night.
This year's crown went to Layne Lumley.
Lumley said it's an honor to be crowned the new queen.
"It's unbelievable," said Lumley. "I wanted it to happen, but didn't expect it to and I'm surprised, and so honored to be able to do this and be able to represent Tippecanoe county this week and all year."
News 18's Gina Quattrocchi was on hand to emcee Saturday night's competition. The fair continues all week long.
As Purdue classes end for the semester, campus bar representatives and local law enforcement met to discuss what they noticed during the semester.
