LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Lafayette School Corporation board approved two contracts Tuesday night, one for the joint healthcare clinic with the Tippecanoe School Corporation and one with energy conservation company Cenergistic.
LSC employees will be able to start using the clinic May 28.
By working with Cenergistic, the district anticipates saving millions of dollars over the next decade.
Board members also heard a presentation from Oakland High School administrators who were campaigning for a year-round school calendar. They said it would help students maintain momentum without the long summer break. The board is expected to discuss the idea further and set a date for a vote later this month.
Sunnyside Middle School is now Sunnyside Intermediate School. LSC Superintendent Les Huddle said the new name better reflects the fifth and sixth grades taught at the school.
