TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Speed may have been a factor in a crash that left a motorcycle rider dead.
The one-vehicle wreck happened Monday afternoon around 4:15 in the 5700 block of Tippecanoe County Road 200 North.
Sheriff's deputies said the motorcycle, operated by Dustin Tetzloff of Lafayette, was headed west on 200 when it left the road. Investigators said the bike went through a yard, across a driveway and down a rock embankment.
Tetzloff was taken to Franciscan Saint Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette where he died from his injuries.
The sheriff's office said excessive speed may have been a factor in the wreck.
County Road 200 North was closed for about an hour while crews cleared the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
