MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - Swimmers in Monticello are paying more at the City Pool.
Admission is now $3 per person. That is up from a $1.50 last year.
Monitcello Parks Superintendent Mitchell Billue said the price hike is due to a few reasons. Cost of chemicals and supplies have gone up and plus the pool was in need of some renovation. Billue said even though the fees have gone up, it is still less expensive than most pools around the state.
"The pool, for $3.00, you get to come for an entire day. There's 9 hours that you can come and enjoy the pool. It's staffed with certified guards. For what you get for $3, it's a pretty good deal," said Billue.
This is the first time the prices have gone up since 1995. The Monticello pool is now open. To learn more about what the pool has to offer, click here .
