While many in the viewing area saw storm damage after the storms Wednesday, others had luck on their side. Benton County was one location that saw minimal damage. The line of thunderstorms weakened as they traveled southeast.
News 18 Chief Meteorologist Chad Evans says the sensor over Benton Central Junior-Senior High School measured 64 mile per hour wind gusts.
The National Weather Service also received a report that siding was ripped off a home in Fowler. Neither the sheriff's office nor Emergency Management in Benton County received any reports of damage from the storms. Sheriff Butch Pritchett says it was fairly quiet.
"With the initial reports that came out, I think we dodged a big bullet for our county," says Pritchett.
Gusty winds from the storm swiped the northern and eastern portions of Benton County, but most of the county only saw heavy rain.
