BURLINGTON, Ind. (WLFI) - Around 8:30 Thursday morning, Gary Scott showed up to his appointment at the Wagoner Medical Clinic in Kokomo.
Scott said the appointment with his doctor quickly turned into an unexpected visit from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
"A nurse came in and she told him, 'Have you been out in the hallway in the last few minutes?' and he said, 'No, I've been in here with Gary,'" said Scott. "We walk out, and they ask him who he was, he told them, and they wouldn't even let me go back in."
On Friday, Scott said he showed up to the Wagoner Medical Clinic office in Burlington for his wife's appointment. However, despite getting a confirmation call around 7 Thursday night, the office was closed.
"The doors were locked and they didn't want to tell us anything," said Scott. "There was one of their workers, but she wouldn't tell us anything."
Scott wasn't the only one. News 18 witnessed more than a dozen patients drive in to the parking lot of the clinic Friday, but all came away just as confused and empty handed as Rick Henson.
"I talked to them yesterday and they said to come back between 12 and 1 to pick up my prescription and that was it," said Henson. "Now, they're closed."
Just like Henson, Scott said he's been a patient of the clinic for a little more than a year. Scott said he's tried to get the clinic to hand over his files, so he can go to another doctor.
So far, he said those attempts have failed.
"They had to have known something was going on, so why didn't they tell us?" said Scott. "So now, there's thousands of patients here in Kokomo that are screwed pretty much."
The DEA was executing search warrants Thursday, but it is not known what they were looking for or what evidence, if anything, was removed.
It is also unclear when the clinic may reopen.
