DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) - Delphi Mayor Randy Strasser is speaking out on a decision to close a big city distribution center.
"On behalf of the City of Delphi, our prayers are for the 16 families impacted by Chromcraft Revington's decision to close its Delphi distribution center," Mayor Strasser said. "After more than 60 years of business in Delphi, it is disappointing to see Chromcraft Revington close its operations, but we wish them success."
Strasser says now, the city's focus will hone in on assisting the employees who won't relocate. He says he will keep working with the Delphi Common Council, Carroll County leadership and Carroll County Economic Development Corporation to ensure the city is business-friendly and the world knows Delphi is ready for more business.
Mayor Strasser said a few things that give Delphi the right tools to compete for jobs? The Hoosier Heartland Highway, Stellar Communities and the creation of the Delphi TIF District.
"While today stings, Delphi's future is bright," Strasser said. "With hard work and coordinated efforts, we strive to never have another announcement like this."
