LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Delphi man has died from injuries he sustained in a Lake County crash.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on I-65 two miles south of the Lowell exit.
Indiana State Police said an SUV driven by 20-year-old Lukus Hunt of Delphi was north bound when he fell asleep.
Troopers said his car went off the road, hit a guard rail, a concrete bridge abutment and then flipped before catching fire.
Hunt and his passenger, 22-year-old Thomas Storey of West Lafayette, were taken to Saint Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point.
Police said Hunt had broken bones and minor burns, while Storey complained of pain. The northbound lanes of I-65 were closed for less than an hour while crews cleared the scene.
