LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A man is arrested for Operating While Intoxicated early Sunday morning, after deputies said he crashed his car on I-65.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department received a call about a single-vehicle crash near mile marker 173 on I-65 around 1:50 Sunday morning.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find the passenger of the car, 35-year-old Katherine West, unresponsive in the vehicle. The driver, 26-year-old Joshua Runko, was responsive in the vehicle.
Deputies said the vehicle left the northbound lane of I-65 for an unknown reason and went down an embankment ending up in a ditch on Frontage Rd. Runko was taken to IU Arnett for head injuries. West was taken to IU Arnett for unknown injuries.
Their condition is unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
