LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Several Cass County residents file a petition to keep their property from becoming part of Logansport.
120 landowners filed the petition for remonstrance Tuesday for the southwestern portion of the Logansport annexation.
City officials told residents that by growing the city, more businesses are likely to come into the area.
However, some residents do not want to be part of the city saying they are happy with the services they receive.
"They moved out into the rural areas because they wanted to live in the county," said representative for the landowners Lindsay Ruby. "A lot of them realize that there may not be major changes. It's not like the city is moving outwards and that they're going to be deep in the city of Logansport. But, they want to be county residents."
News 18 reached out to Logansport Mayor Ted Franklin for comment.
Franklin said because he hasn't had time to review the remonstrance, he did not want to make a comment.
